The Archos Battery Dock was quite easy to open after I spendt about 30 minutes to find out that I had to remove the aluminum part that is glued on with double sided adhesive tape...
There are some electronics inside the dock, but I suspect that they are mainly for charging the internal Battery. I couldn't get the circuit board out of the dock without destroying it, it is held in the dock by two melted plastic parts.

This is the aluminum part you have to (carefully!!) lift off. Try not to bend the part or you will not be able to put it back on.

Remove this Label, there are three screws hidden under it.

Do not stick the Label there, it will leave some glue when it is replaced back to the original position.
